A Level 4 Addiction Professional, registered with the Board of Addiction Professionals South Africa (BAPSA), I offer affordable counselling for people struggling with addictive disorders, as well as for the people living with them. Addiction is a family disease which affects those close to the disordered person as much as the person themselves.
Using a counselling style known as Motivational Interviewing, combined with the concepts of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, we work together to effect positive change. The former is a person centred approach, wherein the client is considered the expert on their own lives and the counsellor is there to facilitate change through strengthening motivation. The latter is a way of exploring thought patterns and core beliefs which might hamper recovery. I also offer online sessions if necessary.
